Here is the proposed planting layout for the courts

The keys to the flowers and plants will be here when someone sends them to me :-)
Mowing Notes (2008):
1. Even if you are unable to cut the grass (say, due to bad weather), it is really important to re-mark the lines (see notes below). If the lines fade completely (say, due to heavy rain), it can take several hours to re-mark them from scratch!
2. Take great care when using the old cylinder mower (Webb) - it responds best to sensitive handlers. If this mower is driven through long grass, the drive belts burn and snap - the drive take-up is now quite precarious, and the clutch mechanism does not completely disengage the drive. If you feel confident enough to use the cylinder mower, do so only after you have cut the grass short (i.e. bottom notch) using the rotary mower (Hayter). Starting this machine can be tricky - seek a demo from an old hand! As with all machines, ensure that the choke is turned fully off as soon as the engine comes to life.
3. Always start with the rotary mower (Hayter). Set the blades to the bottom/lowest notch for the playing areas, and set it to second from bottom for the non-playing outfield. Check that you have petrol in the tank! Move the throttle lever into the choke position, and pull the starter cord - once started, take off the choke. If it doesn't start after a few pulls, try moving the throttle back (out of choke setting) - leave for a few minutes if it floods, then try again! Finally, if it fails to start after "hundreds of pulls", the trick is to seek assistance - upon their arrival, you'll be embarrassed when it starts immediately!
4. Both mowers (cylinder and rotary) and the scarifier use unleaded petrol only - please refill the silver plastic petrol can if it is near to empty (£5 of cheapest unleaded is about right), and take care to tight the screw top. Get a receipt for the fuel, and claim it back from our Treasurer, Mike Williams.
5. Grass cuttings should be put into the 3 green wheely bins - only if these are full, use the black round compost bins.
Line Marking Notes (2008):
1. The strength of white marking solution required is detailed on the side label of the plastic bottles. These bottles contain the concentrated white paint that need to be diluted (about 10 parts water to 1 part paint).
2. Mark the courts carefully, so that the lines don't extend beyond the junctions and corners.
3. Go over each line at least twice - three or four times even better!
4. If you are unable to cut the grass (say, due to bad weather), it is still important to re-mark the lines (see notes below). If the lines fade completely (say, due to heavy rain), it can take several hours to re-mark them from scratch!
